Inspired by the song 'Not one of us' from The Lion King 2.

This is just under A3 in real life, and has painted for Equestria Daily's & the lovely Calpain's December Draw Off. I basically wanted to do something I hadn't seen before, which was the idea of ponies meeting up with their real life versions, and how they would relate to each other. I had a ton of ideas, for lots of fun crazy pieces and compositions (I had this crazy idea that Rarity might try to paint the real horses hooves and style their manes if I did her piece... it was a pretty comical idea) but in the end I settled for something simple and peaceful.

I have a habit of filling my work with too much crap a lot of the time, and I really liked the idea of challenging myself to do something less cluttered, and something with a more natural beauty - and who is more naturally beautiful than Fluttershy! So the idea was created.

Time taken : 90 hours all up. Its probably the longest I've spent on something, and the first time I've painted a MLP, grass or a mountain before, and the first time in 2 years I've painted a pony, so yeah, learning curve was like this. | XD

I really thought a lot about the colours, shadows, and composition in this one, so planning took like 5 hours. Gah! I think it was worth it though, I'm really pleased (for once) with how everything turned out. I put my all into this, and I really feel like this is the extent or my artistic abilities at the moment. As I paint and draw more I will eventually get better, but once in every once in a while I like to but my all into something so I can really see where my ability is at as an artist - so this is it at the moment.

Also, the sky is more or a shimmering gold in real life, not so much orange. Oh well.
